Refurbishing Recycling Training

Jamie's Computers is a Social Enterprise division of Southampton's largest homelessness charity, The Society of St James. Jamie's was established to provide meaningful occupation to The Society's own residents and service users. Through partnerships with local service providers, Jamie's now caters for a wide range of people across the city, including those with mental health issues, learning disabilities and the long-term unemployed.

Jamie's offer learning and training opportunities to service users – a progressive and dynamic environment designed to develop IT skills and confidence.

Jamie's learners have access to –

  • Internet ready computers kitted out with current software
  • Bespoke learning plans that develop confidence and promote inclusion
  • Opportunities to train on-the-job in our enterprising IT collection, refurbishment and sales operation

These activities are funded by a combination of grants and income generated by our commercial services.

Jamie's is not-just-for-profit – all income is used to develop the service. Customers of Jamie's commercial services not only reduce their impact on the environment, they also help contribute positively to the community in which we all live.
